We are happy to announce that we have recently updated our HVAC/R program to better suit the needs of students and employers. We have expanded the program to include a soft-skills course on Tools for Success for the Construction Industry. Additionally, we have added an Externship component that provides students with an opportunity to apply classrooom skills in the field, working under direct supervision of participating extern site personnel or school staff.
The HVAC/R laboratories at AST are equipped with computer-simulated training workstations as well as current gas furnaces, oil furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, hydronic systems, air cleaners, ice machines and walk-in coolers. You will also find various older models that represent common equipment still found in the field today. Electrical boards are used to train you in electrical fundamentals and circuit testing to further improve your industry knowledge.
